About
I’m David von Blohn, a cinematographer based in Mexico City, trying to bring cinematic images to documentary work.
Currently, I’m a contract cinematographer for AJ+ Español and a contract video producer for the United Nations.
My work for clients including Al Jazeera, National Geographic, MSNBC and the United Nations has taken me to over 15 countries across Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
I contributed photographic work to the documentary “Los Comandos”, which was shortlisted for the Oscars 2019. My still photographs have been published in TIME Magazine, The Guardian and El País.
I studied philosophy, politics and literature and speak German, Spanish, English and Portuguese.
