David von Blohn
I’m a nomadic visual storyteller.
I’m a nomadic visual storyteller mostly working in Mexico, the co-founder and creative director of the storytelling network On the Road Media and the content producer at the digital agency Eco Agency. I’ve collaborated with international media outlets like National Geographic, MSNBC and Al Jazeera, local and international organizations including the United Nations. The documentary “Los Comandos” about a group of young volunteer rescuers in San Salvador to which I contributed with additional photography was shortlisted for the Oscars 2019. My photographs have been published by major media outlets including Time Magazine, The Guardian and El País.
I’ve told stories about women and LGBTI rights, indigenous peoples, environment, education and migration from places including Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Argentina, Chile, India, Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Germany. As an educator, I facilitate workshops about visual storytelling for aspiring storytellers, organizations and cooperations and I’m a member of the global creative think tank Sense Network and have worked extensively though the storytelling platform Storyhunter. I’m a filmmaker because I believe in the power of stories to connect people, challenge mentalities and inspire action.
