Mexico’s Flying Woman
The Teenage Commandos
I’m a freelance visual storyteller based in Mexico City aiming to bring cinematic narratives to short and web documentaries.
I collaborate with international media outlets like Al Jazeera, National Geographic or MSNBC, international organizations including the United Nations and commercial clients. My work is focused on women’s and LGBTI rights, indigenous peoples, environment and migration and has taken me to places including Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, India, Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Germany.
I contributed photographic work to the documentary “Los Comandos,” which narrates the story of a group of young volunteer rescuers in San Salvador. The documentary was shortlisted for the Oscars 2019. My still photographs have been published by media outlets including Time Magazine, The Guardian and El País. I studied philosophy, politics and literature at Heidelberg University and Universidad de Chile and graduated with a thesis about otherness.
